Spring Time
Supposedly we don't have seasons in The South...or so we're told.
Translated...what that means is we don't have much of a Fall...we don't get much of those muddy brown and orange clammy leaves all over our driveway in October.
Anyway...around the beginning of March those stinky Bradford Pears and Japanese Magnolias will bloom...won't be long before the Dogwoods, man do I love Dogwoods, burst...then Wisteria...and finally the Azaleas.
That's our neighbors yard up there...what I stare at with my morning coffee...beautiful that's all.

Wow, that's spectacular. By way of absolute contrast, I'm looking out my window at some typical British fog.
ReplyDeleteLovely view, we have had some lovely weather this week too, so much so I been geting outside and sorting the garden/yard. Then this morning is blew a hooley and knocked my plastic greenhouse over, and trashed all the seeds I planted, and wrecked half the garden... cheers weather.
ReplyDeleteThe notion of having a mornign cofee on a porch is awesome to me, but it has two small draw backs. 1) the weather is shit too much of the time, that even if its nice, the furniture gets trashed on the days it isn't so requires lumping out the garage to use... which ruins it. 2) I'd have to learn to get my arse out of bed in enough time to enjoy a coffee and not be charging for the door.
It is however a number 1 essential for retirement.... an awesome outdoor coffee place!
If it make's y'all feel any better yesterdee was as dripping damp and gray as anything I can remember walkin' around in over there.
ReplyDeleteSuns back out today though.
You'll be happy to know my man that they make outdoor furniture now that can take the worst of it...still looks good.
Sadly we have a giant deck (it's great) but no front porch (we have a little one about 4" wide). Something that'll be fixed when we move again. A house without a front porch is just a building.
I love this time of year, though it makes even less of a difference when you are as far south as I am. The seasons blend together a lot.
ReplyDeleteWe had terrible weather the past two or so days, but the sun is out again and hot as ever. We hit the 90's today. :)
Lovely view indeed.
Lorraine
Y'all are actually in the Tropics down there aren't you...starts somewhere below Ocala I think.
ReplyDeleteWe've been the 80's quite a bit lately...I can't wait for the heat. I love it.
You've had some funny stuff over there lately.
I guess we have seasons...hot, hotter, and not as hot.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Why are all your pictures taking up the entire page. It's on my nerves!
And since when did you go soft and start making posts about flowers? Hippie Tree-Hugger is what you are.
ReplyDeleteSince I spent four years away from God's country.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you do me a favor and make a list of all the things that get on your nerves...that oughta buy at least a month of peace.
The Sister's still calling me a sissy for talkin' about flowers...cretin!
