hahaha...yes, as predicted by the lovely Mrs.Allan, lincoln and his sidekick (a freed slave of course) hunted down Confederate vampires.
Of course, in reality lincoln is the man that turned our federal government into a vampire. His legacy was solidified this week.
That's Jefferson Davis in on top...the first president of the Confederacy. Below is the last political leader we shared...King George...and a damn site better deal than what we've got now.
As far as I know...before getting what he deserved while seated in a theater, he may have come under fire once while visiting the front during the conquest of The South.
Unlike Jeff Davis who was a hero in the Mexican American War...lincoln had no experience in combat.
Yeah that doesn't surprise me. It has always amazed me that in the US a president does not have to have any military experience. Particularly since he or she will be commander in chief.
Just picking up on Horse's point about most leaders being crazy in some way: I know it's probably a very obvious thing to say - and I know there ARE a several honourable, wise, altruistic, rational and compassionate people out there who would make excellent leaders, but to my mind most of the ones who actually WANT to, and think they CAN, rule themselves out of that category by that very fact... I wish it were different but I'm afraid for that reason I don't feel I can trust anyone who puts themselves up for the job :-(
Obvious though it may be to a thinking person, it's a point that needs to be made more obvious... it takes a "special" person to want those jobs.
That's why a clearly stated set of NEGATIVE rights (negative rights...what our supreme ruler, as a candidate, bemoaned as a list of things the government cannot do)...rights that are beyond the reach of the vapid electorate and their X-Factor elections...strictly enforced is the only hope for liberty.

I'm afraid my knowledge of US politics is, to my shame, terribly limited - but, didn't Abraham Lincoln hunt vampires...?

Heard stories about Lincon standing in the open during battle.. crazy man. Considering his height he would have been a sitting duck.
ReplyDeleteanyway think most leaders are crazy in some way, or in the case of GW Bush in all ways lol (Im not picking on Bush just making the point)

DeleteGeorge Bush Sr. was the last president with real combat experience. I think he flew almost 60 missions as a pilot during WWII...he was shot down once.
