A Showing. A Happening!

I think you've all earned a treat.

I know how desperately you've all been clammering...on the inside...for another masterwork. I am nothing if not sensitive to the needs and wants of my readers and, considering the artistic importance of my work, those of humanity as a whole.

I am a humanitarian...bearing a gift. A new Masterpeice...a reason to party.

Check the weeble wobble action from Frank Black...watching him play the guitar is almost as fun as listening.

First a retrospective...Allan 1 - 4.

That's Allan 3 and 4...along with a Peter Halley and a Jonathan Lasker...the edge of a Rothko.

The Cat Lady's son.

Allan 1,2 and 3.

A close up of Allan 3...my greatest, perhaps the greatest, work to date.

And now for the latest Masterpeice...

I call it Ronnie and Allan.*

You're all very welcome.

*Actually I hate this one...it's been sitting in there for months.

  1. I like the last one! For some reason it makes me think..."peacock"

  2. Why thank you ma'am.

Something about it just rubs me the wrong way...maybe it's the title.

  3. Now painted artwork is something I know nothing about. I don't know whats supposed to be good or whats not. What I do know is what I like to look at and the last one is pretty good.

  4. What fantastic colour you've brought in to my grey Monday morning, thank you! I particularly like Allan 2... really strong, vibrant. What a cool musical soundtrack too, it works so well...like I'm at your Private View. (Is that what it's like at the MoMA?!)

    1. I'm so glad you're enjoying yourself.

I'm also thrilled by your reaction to Allan 2. When it debuted, Adam and the Sister made me produce a black and white version. Adam said the colours were making his face hurt.

Thank you for you professional and generous opinion.

  5. Whats the one obscurring the csa flag, that looks promsing, have we seen that before? Alan three is the best, still wants a bit cropping from the right hand side to my eyes.

Sat on the sofa wth a poorly boy today, thank god i fixed the ipad crash problem as random post surfing is all thats keepin me sane.

    1. That one's a subversive pen and ink drawing that is among our favorite pieces. We especially admire the daring of the artist...somehow getting it through the yankee postal system where their understanding of north american history is not what you'd call subtle.

  6. Frank Black would paint like that, if he painted. Nice one(s), Mister.

    1. Thank you kindly ma'am.

The Pixie do seem to fit these especially well.

  7. LOVING this post. The Pixies are one of those bands I know of, but don't listen to, I should do.

My ex boyfriend forced the 13th floor elevators on me as part of his musical education programme - glad he did they are awesome. The Fall, well its the Fall.

I tried to do my own wall art one time, the results sadly were not as outstanding as yours Ronnie and Allen rock!

    1. Thank you..thank you.

We need to fix that...the Pixies are crushingly good. One of the few untouchable bands that's ever been.

  8. Hey dixie-boy-of-many-talents!

I prefer that splodgy one you've not named. You know the one - that one that sits under Allan 3.

Reminds me of my cousins work (oh he is a true genius - not, of course, that I am casting nasturtiums upon your own living breathing work) - and that is high praise from me indeed... In case you are interested he can be found on-

  9. Hey Mrs. Ma'am. I've been wondering where you been.

Thank you for the praise and the association. That is some fabulous work.

We are on the vergenof a huge Pixies dump here.

  10. Haha - Pixies rule!
I've been workaholic-ing again... not so good...In fact I've had to fight that urge to write policy tonight. But I won the fight!
Might be going to the pub in a wee while - but until then I can work on my next post...

  11. Let it go...just let it go.

Since Saturday...it's all I've been listening to. These things happen from time to time with certain bands....My Bloody Valentine and The Mighty Fall being a few example.
